Bartosz Urbaniak

Graduate of banking at the Faculty of Finance and Statistics of SGH Warsaw School of Economics He completed a postgraduate programme for foreigners at the Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Japan.
Participant and graduate of many training courses and educational programmes, including Harvard Business School, IESE, Ashridge College.

At the beginning of his professional career (1995-2001) he joined the Warsaw Commodities Exchange (WGT), performing many functions, from a student trainee at the time of founding WGT to the Vice-President of the Management Board in 1999-2001.

In 2001-2002, he worked for the Agricultural Market Agency, where he was Deputy Director of the Market Intervention Office and held the position of Director for Plant Products. He has been working for Bank BGŻ since 2002, initially as Vice Director of the Separate Credit Department (in 2002-2003). He then became Director of the Institutional Banking Development Department (2003-2005). Since September 2005, he has held various functions in the area of agribusiness, including Director of the Agribusiness Finance Department and Managing Director for Agribusiness and SMEs. From March 2015 to February 2018 he was a Member of the Board of Bank BGŻ BNP Paribas.

Przemek Gdański
President of the Management Board at BNP Paribas Bank Polska

Przemysław Gdański graduated from the University of Gdańsk (MSc. in Economics) and took a one-year program in international banking and finance at Loughborough University in the UK. He completed Advanced Management Program at IESE Business School and several professional and executive development programs at Harvard Business School, London Business School, University of California, Berkeley - Haas School of Business, Ashridge - Hult International Business School and HEC.

He has over 25 years of banking experience. From 1993 to 1995 he worked for IBP Bank SA, then for ABN AMRO Bank in Poland, Romania and in the headquarters in Amsterdam. From 2002 to 2006 he was managing director of Large Corporates Division in BPH Bank. From May to November 2006 - CEO and general director of Calyon Bank Polska and Calyon SA Branch in Poland. In November 2006 he was appointed the position of deputy CEO in BPH Bank, responsible for  corporate banking and real estate financing. After the merger of  part of BPH Bank and Pekao SA - deputy CEO of Pekao SA, responsible for Corporate Banking, Markets and Investment Banking in Division. Member and vice president of the Management Board of mBank (formerly BRE Bank) from November 19, 2008 to October 25, 2017, responsible for Corporate and Investment Banking.

Since November 2, 2017 he was a Territory Head for BNP Paribas, supervising BNP Paribas Group’s enterprises in Poland. He has a proven record of supporting diversity, gender equality and women’s entrepreneurship. In March 2018 he has been awarded Male Champion of Change accolade presented by Success Written with Lipstick Foundation in the recognition of his achievements in advocacy for women and his encouragement of their professional development.

Michał Siwek
Head of Food & Agri International Hub Department; BNP Paribas Group AgriHub CEE & Africa at BNP Paribas Bank Polska

Michał has 18 years of banking experience. Over that time he was responsible for (among others) development &relationship management with strategic corporate clients, business teams’ management, development & implementation of the sectorial policies (TSL and F&A). He spent over 10 years with Rabobank Group, where he worked in Poland (Rabobank Polska and BGZ) and as well as in the Netherlands (bank’s HQs and Corporate Network). In the process of BNPP and BGZ merger was responsible for integration of the strategic and multinational corporate clients, and subsequently Michał became head of Large Corporates Department. He worked also in Corporate Division of Santander Bank, where was responsible for development of TSL sector strategy. Currently is responsible for Food&Agri sector strategy and growth for BNPP Group’s bank in Poland, Ukraine and Turkey. Michał graduated from Krakow University of Economics.

He graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology. He completed Post-Graduate Management Studies at the Warsaw School of Economics as well as the Advance Management Program – IESE Business School University of Navarra.

In 1998 he started his professional career at Citibank Poland S.A in Emerging Local Corporates Area. After the merger of Citibank and Bank Handlowy in 2001-2003, served as national head of Sales Development Office at Bank Handlowy S.A., and from 2003 to January 2005 as head of Sales Department in the Corporate Banking Division. Member of the Supervisory Board of Handlowy Leasing S.A. from 2002 to January 2005. From February 2005 to December 2008, president of the Management Board of Handlowy Leasing and managing director at Bank Handlowy S.A. in the Asset Financing Department. From January 2009, managing director of Corporate Banking Department at Kredyt Bank S.A. From May 2011 to the beginning of 2013 (until the merger of Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. and Kredyt Bank S.A.), vice president of the Management Board at Kredyt Bank responsible for the Corporate Banking area, focusing on service for SME and corporate clients. During his time at Kredyt Bank S.A., Mr. Śledziewski was member (and later chairman) of the Supervisory Board of Kredyt Lease, member of the Supervisory Board of KBC Autolease Polska and member of the Bank’s Credit Committee. From July 2013 to February 2014, Mr. Śledziewski was head of the Corporate Banking Department for the Central Region at Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. From March 2014 to July 2016, he served as head of the Sales Strategy and Product Sales Department in the Business and Corporate Banking Division of BZ WBK S.A. Furthermore, he was member of the Supervisory Board of WBK Lease S.A., BZ WBK Leasing S.A., and BZ WBK Faktor, the Bank’s Credit Committee, the Credit Policy Forum and the Market Forum at BZ WBK S.A.

Jerzy Buzek
Member of the European Parliament

Polish politician and university professor, Jerzy Buzek is a former Prime Minister of Poland and former President of the European Parliament. An MEP since 2004, currently member of the EP Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) as well as the Subcommittee on Defence (SEDE). Since 2014 chairs the European Energy Forum, a platform for discussion between European energy stakeholders and policymakers. In 2010, together with acques Delors, he proposed the creation of a "European Energy Community", a strategy to strengthen energy legislation and cooperation within and outside the EU, which laid foundations for  EU Energy Union. Led the Parliament's work on Accelerating Clean Energy Innovation report, Gas Directive Revision, Security of Gas Supply Regulation, the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) and the EU's 7th Framework Programme for Research. Initiator and ITRE rapporteur of the Just Transition Fund - a financial instrument to support the European regions in energy transition.

Jerzy Plewa
Team Europe expert

Currently, as a Team Europe expert, he is working on the Common Agricultural Policy, the New European Green Deal and trade negotiations, science, research and innovation in agriculture.

In 2013-2019, Director-General in the European Commission – Directorate-General (DG) for Agriculture and Rural Development, former Deputy Director-General (2006-2012). 
In 1997-2004, as Deputy-Minister in the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, he was responsible for cooperation with the EU, adjustment of Polish agriculture to the CAP and trade negotiations (CEFTA, WTO). In 1998-2003, he was responsible for negotiating agricultural affairs in the team negotiating Poland’s accession to the European Union appointed by the Prime Minister of Poland.  A long-time researcher, assistant professor at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) (1983-1997), as well as a FAO and World Bank expert. He also held the post of Director of the unit monitoring foreign agricultural markets (FAMMU/FAPA) and Director of the research and implementation organisation centre of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) and advisor to  the NBP. 
Author and co-author of many articles and works, including “Strategia rozwoju sektora rolno-spożywczego w Polsce” (“Strategy for the development of the agro-food industry in Poland”) (1990).

He graduated from Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering (M.Sc 1978 and Ph.D 1982), specialising in mathematical modelling of systems and equipment for energy production.

In 2016-2019, he was the editor-in-chief of Business Insider Polska. Previously, he worked, among others, for Radio  post of deputy editor-in-chief of Ewa Wanat, head of information, host of “Poranek TOK FM”. For 6 years he also worked for TVN24, where he ran “Polska i Świat” show. He hosted such shows as: “Magazyn 24 godziny”, “Cały ten świat”, “Serwisy informacyjne”. He also cooperated with Discovery Channel and Polsat. 

He is an author of the following books:
